ABOUT
Amir Barnett is a 25-year-old, self-taught visual artist and designer based in Washington, DC. His art combines the precision of his technical background with his creative spirit, forming a unique visual language.
Barnett's latest works draw on symbols and line work from his day-to-day experiences as a civil engineering. The bold lines, shapes, and colors in his pieces are inspired by environmental symbols found in engineering plans, creating a balance between structure and creativity.
Barnett's art delves into deeper themes of spirituality, movement, and presence, capturing the essence of exploration and playfulness. With a true artist’s drive to create, he merges the analytical with the creative, connecting the right and left brain through his work. As he pursues his Professional Engineering license, Barnett continues to expand his artistic practice, blending engineering with artistic expression.
In May 2024, Barnett's debut solo exhibition at Homme Gallery in Washington, DC, was a resounding success, selling out and drawing over 200 attendees. Stay tuned for more art shows and events in 2025!
